Miehet 2: Keiteleeltä kolme pistettä ja arvokasta kokemusta

Ensimmäisessä pelissä vastaan asettui keski-iältään ehkä noin 15 vuotias Kalliosuon Sisu Sonkajärveltä. Ottelu oli ensi hetkistä lähtien erittäin vaikea ja virheiden sävyttämä. KallSi olikin ottelussa johtoasemassa erittäin sekavan alun jälkeen, mutta lopulta kokemus alkoi näkyä tulostaululla. Sisun selkäranka taittui viimeistään Raatin alivoiman aikana, kun Jani Riekkinen ja Joni Toivanen pääsivät kumpikin kertaalleen maalintekoon. Lisävaikeutta peliin toi vastustajan pienikokoisuus, tilanteisiin piti mennä erittäin hellästi ja jarrutellen, jotta vältyttiin loukkaantumisilta. Varovaisuudesta huolimatta nilsiäläiset ottivat viisi kahden minuutin rangaistusta, mikä on paljon 45 minuuttia kestävässä ottelussa. Loppulukemat 8-4 Raatille olivat oikeutetut. Ottelun onnistujiin kuului etunenässä hattutempun viimeistellyt Panu Hartikainen.

Toiseen koitokseen vastaan asettuikin sitten täysin päinvastainen joukkue kooltaan ja iältään. SB Welhot III sisälsi mitä ilmeisemmin pääasiassa 70- ja 80-luvuilla syntyneitä pelaajia. Welhot olivat hävinneet edellisen ottelunsa suurinumeroisesti silminnähden väsyttäen itsensä taistellessaan pitääkseen maalieron alle kahdessatoista. Tämä loikin hyvän aihion Raatin voittoa varten. Nilsiäläispoppoo olikin niskan päällä heti alusta lähtien, ainakin pallokontrollissa ja jalkanopeudessa. Maalintekopaikkoja oli naulata peli jo hyvissä ajoin, mutta veto toisensa perään osuessaan maalia kohti, kilpistyi keltapaitaisen joukkueen maalivahtiin. Putkiin ja ohi suuntautuneita laukauksia oli myös aimo määrä. Lopulta ottelu näytti kääntyvän Raatin hyväksi ylivoimalla tehdyllä maalilla, mutta keltainen tuli vielä tasoihin, eikä Welhojen 4-4 tasoitusmaalin jälkeen lisätehoja nähty lukuisista Raatin järjestelemistä paikoista huolimatta.

Turnaus opetti paljon joukkueelle. Maalivahtiosasto oli luotettava. Molemmat maalivahdit, eli Jani Miettinen ja Mikko Pappi esittivät lukuisia huipputorjuntoja, pitäen joukkueen etenkin ottelujen alussa mukana pelissä. Ehkäpä kaksi eniten oppia ottanutta pelaajaa olivat täysin ensikertalaisena turnaukseen lähtenyt Janne Korhonen, joka pelasi ennakkoluulottomasti väläytellen välillä pelisilmäänsä, jääden kuitenkin ilman tehopisteitä, sekä valmennus-/kapteeniosastolla ensimmäistä kertaa esiintynyt Mikko Turunen. Mennyt turnaus osoitti, että Raatti on valmis haastamaan sarjan heikoimpien porukoiden lisäksi myös astetta kovempia poppoita. Positiivista oli myös tuomariston erittäin vakuuttavat otteet. Jos tuomioiden linja ja tasaisuus saa jatkumoa kauden lopuissa turnauksissa, voidaan tuomarityöskentelyä pitää onnistuneena.
